Each year, the Romanian Safer Internet Centre organises a Summer School on internet safety for the Romanian youth panelists. For the third year running, the School has also been opened to all youth panelists from the 30 Safer Internet Centres, providing them with a change to share experiences and ideas from across Europe. This year 15 participants from 7 countries (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Germany, Latvia, The Netherlands, Portugal and Slovakia) across the network are attending the School, which is taking place in Sambata de Sus from 1 – 7 July. Each day, two participants will work together to produce a blog about their activities. You can read the first post below. Photos and vidoes will be coming soon!
“Without doubt, this camp is awesome! I was here last year and I really enjoyed every moment, but I guess every year is getting better and better. On the first day, everyone was really tired after the long trip, so today was the first time when we actually socialised.
Firstly, I must say the interactive games and teambuilding helped us to break the ice! We managed to talk to people from other countries and find out some details about them. After that, we had our first training about security on the internet: we expressed our personal opinions about this subject and started a rather shy conversation. Fortunately, we were asked about our personal experiences and every participant was happy to share his thoughts.
The day was frenzy of activities: after lunch, we met the guys from EcoExtreme team (which are, by the way, great). We played football, twister, not to mention we fight like real sumo! Everyone was exhausted, so we had a break and time to prepare for the next event.
Meanwhile, a surprise party was organised for us by EcoExtreme! We were supposed to prepare a short funny dance in teams and the best one was awarded. To be honest, I think we are going to have lots of fun tonight!”
